Mirror Image
I got the idea for this project from my AP Psychology class. One of the projects someone presented in that class is that someone in a picture is more beautiful when they see themselves in the reflected image; what they would see if they saw themselves in a mirror, because that is how they are accustomed to viewing themselves, other than in pictures. I demonstrated this effect by taking an image I had of me with my mom, and flipped the image right next to it, letting the viewer decide which image they think looks better.
Safety Poster
This piece I created by request of our school's janitorial staff. He wanted to provide safety posters around the school in order inform students of what is correct when cutting open boxes versus what is incorrect. I put two images, side by side, demonstrating and explaining which way is correct and why.
Skittles
This project was inspired by my favorite candy, Skittles. I used an image of Skittles and set it as my background. I then wrote my first name on top of the image, using a new font I downloaded. I then incorporated all the different colors of the original Skittles and used it to color the letters in my name. Lastly, to make it easier to see, I raised the opacity of the Skittles image and put a drop shadow on the letters.
Metropolitan Review

This image I found on the Metropolitan website is different than many of the others, it is an ad. It is promoting Sterling baking powder. I like this piece a lot because it incorporates the artistic class in the art side of the image, and making it into an ad. The actual ad is interesting because it incorporates elephants to prove how strong the product is since elephants are seen as very tough animals.

Midterm 2
This assignment also is related to food, as I incorporated it to where we live, and the places to eat here. I took some logos, some menus, some signs, and some pictures of their food and put it all in one piece. This represents our town in the best way, by representing where the people of Charlottesville meet and interact.
Midterm1
This piece is incorporating the splash effect we learned in the tutorial handout packet. I went to the site it suggested, fotolia.com for images to use. I took a strawberry hanging off the stem, and cut the bottom of the strawberry off. Then, following the tutorial, I added the splash effect to the bottom of the strawberry, making it look like an effect following the strawberry being cut. The only thing I had trouble with was adjusting the splash color from the previous blue to the red of a strawberry. Overall, I am fairly please with how this piece came out.

Summer Collage
This project was inspired from another tutorial I found on how to create a collage. I personalized the project just a little from the tutorial to make it more pleasing to the eye. I used original photos that are all related to summertime to create this.

Opening A Can..
This is a project that I found for myself, which I just learned how to do from a tutorial. The task is to have a closed can, and take the top off and create what the inside of the can should look like. By using the outside dimensions, you can imitate the inside of the can. It is also possible to put things into the can so it looks like it's holding things, but I wanted to leave is empty in order to show the inside I created better.
