Fine Arts Festival

This project was to make a flyer to advertise for the 2012 Fine Arts Festival. We were given the artwork that some children from Stony Point Elementary School made. It came with the light blue background, so I took the same color and chose a different shade for a contrasting color. I downloaded a font from dafont.com to keep the little kid style in the theme of the poster.

Charlottesville 250 Years

For our midterm, we were assigned something that would represent our town of Charlottesville for it's 250th anniversary. To represent out town, I did a piece based off the University of Virginia. I thought this was appropriate because UVA is the base of our town and why it is so populated. In my project to show UVA, I decided to take three different angles. The first is the sports and the celebration of success. Second, I chose the academic side. It often gets overlooked, but UVA is regarded at one of the toughest public schools to get into. And lastly, I decided to show the student life and how fun it can be in college.

Filters

This is an old project we were assigned last year. I wanted to do it again, so I revisited it. I basically took one image and used the filters feature on Photoshop and altered that one image in multiple ways. In this particular one, I did a lot of dramatic changes involving other colors and such. In the other ones, I made very slight changes. These ones I made to not distract your eye, to focus it all on the dramatic images.

NoH8

For this project, we created fliers to be put up in the school for the NoH8 Campaign. We did this project for the Gay Straight Alliance Club in our school. I especially liked this project because it seemed like a real project that might be asked of us if we worked for a Graphic Designing company.
